The Taiga biome is a forest in the subarctic reign. They are located underneath the arctic circle and above temperate forests. They are located in Alaska, Canada, Scandinavia, and Siberia. They often have permafrost and muskegs in them. They are made up of mostly coniferous trees like spruce, pine, and fir trees. Animals like Rodents, birds of prey, moose, caribou, bears, and lynx live in this biome.
Some of the threats include hunting and tree deforestation like clear cutting. Clear cutting ruins many animals habitats. Another threat is climate change, it thaws permafrost which creates muskegs.
